Aruna Vijay took to Instagram to share a glimpse of the party her family and close friends arranged for her, after her success on MasterChef India season 7
One of the contestants that has constantly made the headlines during their stint in MasterChef India season 7 is Aruna Vijay. She became the talking point on the internet after the judges allowed her to switch her protein and cook a fish-based dish with paneer, just because she was a vegetarian. She was oftentimes brutally trolled because the judges would often show favouritism towards her dishes.
Days after sharing how the incessant trolling affected her performance on the show, she has now taken to her social media handle to express her gratitude for being a part of the cooking-based reality show. Taking to Instagram she shared a video compilation of the small gathering hosted by her family and friends on her return. She went on to express how she might not have won the show, but her journey has made her stronger. Taking to the captions, she wrote, “‘Losing isn’t always the end, sometimes it becomes the beginning.’ My journey at Mastetchef didn’t end on a winning strike, but It has made me stronger & absolutely grateful for the experience. My family is immensely proud of my journey & had arranged a gathering with close friends & family. Can’t thank them enough for all their love and support. During an interview with Indian Express, Aruna had opened up about how being trolled on the internet had affected her performance on the show. She had expressed how being a normal person, she couldn’t understand why people were judging her. She had said, “There were times when I would call my husband and say I want to return home. I would cry myself to sleep which affected my performance. My mind was so preoccupied that I couldn’t do my best. Even though people said I shouldn’t focus on the trolls, I couldn’t understand why people were judging me.”
For the unversed, Nayanjyoti Saikia took home Rs 25 lakhs as the prize money along with the coveted trophy of MasterChef India season 7 and the Golden Chef's Coat. He beat Santa Sarmah and Suvarna Bagul, who became the first and second runner-ups of the show.
